755nm Wavelength: powerful energy absorption by the melanin. Ideal for a long range of hair types and colors, including those that are light or thin. This wavelength has a relatively superficial permeability, targeting the bulge of the hair follicle. Great for Fitzpatrick I and II.

808nm Wavelength: this classic wavelength used in many laser hair removal treatments deeply penetrates hair follicles with high power and quick treatment times. Its moderate melanin absorption quality targets both the bulge and bulb of the follicle.

940nm Wavelength: is absorbed by both hemoglobin and collagen, while maintaining lower absorption by epidermal melanin. This absorption profile allows the laser energy to penetrate deeper into the dermis, gently heating the hair follicle and its surrounding blood supply without excessive surface heating. The interaction with hemoglobin may help weaken the follicle’s support system, while controlled dermal heating supports safe and effective hair reduction. This balance makes 940 nm especially effective and safer for a wide range of skin types, including darker skin tones.

1064nm Wavelength: characterized by lower melanin absorption, this is an ideal solution for darker skin tones. Compared to the other wavelengths, this one penetrates the hair follicle the deepest, destroying both the bulb and papilla. It can also target hairs that are deeply embedded, like those in the armpits and public area. Due to its ability to absorb a lot of water, it generates more heat to make laser hair removal that much more effective.
